Description
The US Coast Guard intends to solicit, negotiate and award a sole Source procurement using procedures FAR Part 13.5 test programs for Commercial items to San Francisco International Airport, PO Box 8097, San Francisco, CA 94128. The Coast Guard requires: telecommunications structured cabling infrastructure, network operations center services, and two digital signal level three (DS3) circuits for CG Air Station located at the San Francisco Airport. There will be one base year and four (4) one year options that may be exercised for the recurring services and maintenance support. These services require single mode fiber optic cabling or broadband coaxial cabling with at least two separate DS3 circuit from the main point of entry (MPOE) at the San Francisco International Airport to the Coast Guard Telecommunication Room at the administration building at the San Francisco Airport. CRITICAL REQUIREMENT: The SFO Airport Authority ITT is the only service provider that provides structured cabling pathways and fiber optic cabling for customers at the San Francisco Airport. The Coast Guard contacted AT&T. the Local Exchange Carrier, and the only other service provider we know provides these services for SFO International Airport Authority customers. AT&T informed the Coast Guard that all structured cabling and infrastructure was turned over to the SFO International Airport Authority in 1998 as a result of a Public Utility Commission decision regarding all telecommunications structured cabling and infrastructure. The San Francisco Airport Authority is uniquely qualified as the only service provider because they own the cabling and pathway facilities at the SFO airport. No other service provider has access to the San Francisco Airport Authority cabling and infrastructure facilities. When asked for other service providers, the San Francisco Authority responded that no other service providers are allowed usage of their structured cabling infrastructure or facilities. This is a not a request for quotation, however interested parties may identify themselves and their capacity to satisfy this Coast Guard requirement, if no responses are received within seven (7) days negotiations will be conducted with SF Airport. NO TELEPHONE INQUIRIES.
