Description
Contracting Office Address Department of Health and Human Services, National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Library of Medicine Office of Acquisitions, National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) Acquisitions Branch, 6707 Democracy Boulevard, II Democracy Plaza, Suite 700W, Bethesda, Maryland 20817. Description: National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) plans to procure, on a sole source basis, with Sandhill Scientific, 9150 Commerce Center Circle, Highlands Ranch, CO, 80129, A FibroScan 502 Touch with M Probe, quantity = 1 and FibroScan Probe, quantity = 1. This acquisition will be processed in accordance with Simplified Acquisition Procedures as stated in FAR Part 13.106-1(b)(1). The North American Industry Classification System Code is 334516 and the business size standard is 500 employees. Only one award will be made as a result of this solicitation. This will be awarded as a firm-fixed price type contract. This FibroScan 502 Touch is used in the clinical management of patients with liver disease by assessing liver shear wave speed. This equipment uses patented Vibration Controlled Transient Elastography (VCTE), is the first non-invasive device indicated as an aid to clinical management of liver disease patients and contains: A Custom-designed ergonomic transducer, Advanced electronics for fast, effective examination, Automated probe selection indicator, Liver targeting tool and a Visual feedback pressure indicator. This is a replacement for our existing transient elastography FibroScan® machine with an updated version. It is manufactured by Echosens and solely distributed by Sandhill Scientific. This is not a solicitation for competitive quotations. However, if any interested party believes they can meet the above requirement, they may submit a statement of capabilities. All information furnished must be in writing and must contain sufficient detail to allow the NIDDK to determine if it can meet the above unique specifications described herein. An original and one copy of the capability statement must be received in the NIDDK Acquisitions Branch on or before 11:30 AM EST on 08/19/2013. Electronic capability statements (via e-mail) will be accepted. All questions must be in writing and can be emailed to Lisa Josephowitz, Contract Specialist, at josephol@mail.nih.gov or faxed at 301-480-7443. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. In order to receive an award, contractor must be registered and have valid certification in the System for Award Management (SAM), https://www.sam.gov.
