- Sources Sought Announcement The Department of Veterans Affairs, G.V. (Sonny) Montgomery VAMC, 1500 E. Woodrow Wilson Drive, Jackson, MS 39216, is seeking to obtain information on laundry services for the Medical Center. This is not a request for competitive quotes. It is a notice to obtain possible sources that have the capacity and capability of providing laundry services. The draft Statement of Work is available, below. If your company can provide these services, please submit the following information to Lakeisha White, Contracting Officer, at Lakeisha.white@va.gov, no later than Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at 3:00 PM CST. Information to Submit "GSA Schedule, if applicable "Socioeconomic status of your company "List of federal contracts held by your company "Product brochures and other publically-available information "Any issues/concerns with the draft Statement of Work STATEMENT OF WORK LAUNDRY SERVICES 1. GENERAL: The contractor will provide laundry services for the period October 1, 2013 - September 30, 2014 to include the following: "pick-up and delivery will be six (6) days per week, Monday through Saturday, excluding Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day "linen must be folded and stacked "linen must be plasticized or shrink wrapped "assessment of emergency backup capabilities to insure that they are able to keep the medical center supplied in the event of a disaster must be provided "infection control guidelines must be adhered to "must have the capability to process 1.2 million pounds of linen annually "must be within a 100 mile radius SPECIAL CONTRACT REQUIREMENTS PAYMENTS: Payments will be made monthly in arrears for all authorized work performed, upon receipt of a properly prepared invoices. Invoices must include contract number and purchase order number. Non-performance or late performance may result in delayed or reduced payment under this contract. CONTINUITY OF SERVICE: A thirty (30) day Phase-in/Phase-out period, effective on the contract commencement date is required in order to facilitate a potential change in Contractors upon expiration of the current contract and to ensure continuity for service. When there is a change in Contractors, it shall be the responsibility of the new Contractor to ensure the transition is accomplished without delays. EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS PLAN: The Contractor will provide an Emergency Preparedness Plan (disaster plan) which provides for continued, uninterrupted service in the event of an emergency which might result in an interruption of service. A copy of this plan will be provided to the Contracting Officer within 30 days after award of contract. GUARANTEE: The Contractor agrees to extend to the G.V. (Sonny) Montgomery VA Medical Center, Jackson, MS the same guarantees and warranties for any and all services provided as a result of this contract that he/she would normally offer for similar services and items provided to the general public. EVIDENCE OF INSURANCE COVERAGE: Prior to award of the contract the prospective contractor shall furnish the Contracting Officer a certificate from his insurance company indicating that the coverage outlined herein has been obtained and that it may not be changed or cancelled without written notice to the Contracting Officer.
