- The National Park Service, Northeast Region New England Major Acquisition Buying Office, on behalf of Acadia National Park, Bar Harbor, ME, contemplates negotiating and awarding, on a sole-source basis, a purchase order to Southworth-Milton Inc., doing business as Milton CAT, 79 Robertson BLVD, Brewer, ME 04412-2246. If the Government makes an award, the Government will make the award under the authority and guidance of Federal Acquisition Regulation Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The National Park Service proposes to use Milton CAT as a sole-source to satisfy the requirement to provide necessary repairs to a 1989 Caterpillar 120G Motor Grader. All parts used to complete repairs shall be new Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) Caterpillar or Caterpillar Remanufactured. To ensure ongoing warranty support from the manufacturer, the Contractor shall only use certified Caterpillar Parts during the rebuild process. All work shall comply with the manufacturers recommendations and shall be within the manufacturers specified tolerances. Upon completion of the work, the contractor will provide a one (1) year Caterpillar certified Parts and Labor Warranty in accordance with industry standard. All repairs must be completed, offsite and away from, Acadia National Parks Maintenance Facility, and at the contractors repair facility. The Repair facility must be located within a 60-mile drive of Acadia National Park, so that park staff may complete periodic inspections of the repairs. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. However, interested firms, or persons, may identify their interest and capability to repair a 1989 Caterpillar 120G Motor Grader and provide OEM Caterpillar equipment or Caterpillar Remanufactured parts. Responses shall be submitted no later than 5:00pm August 9, 2013 Eastern (oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice) to david_barceleau@nps.gov. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed procurement based on responses to this notice is solely at the discretion of the Government.
