Description
Davis Bacon Wage Determination attached to the RFQ RFQ Body that follows the SF 1442 SF 1442 Removal and Replacement of a Section of Poured-In-Place Playground Resilient Safety Surfacing In the Child Care Center Playground SOCIAL SECURITY ADMINISTRATION Contractor shall demolish old playground turf and install the new surface in a section of playground at the Child Care Center of the Frank Hagel Federal Building located in Richmond, CA. The service shall be completed following the requirements below and in a step by step process due to the unknown condition of the existing redwood tree root system: •<img src="file:///d:\users\554139\TEMP\msohtmlclip1\01\clip_image001.png" alt="*" width="13" height="13" /> Step 1 - Demo and dispose of 400 SF of poured in place (PIP) Tot Turf. Contractor shall be responsible for all labor, materials, tools, and equipment to perform all work and services for the removal of the old surface and the installation of the new surface. •<img src="file:///d:\users\554139\TEMP\msohtmlclip1\01\clip_image001.png" alt="*" width="13" height="13" /> Step 2 - After demolition, SSA will inspect the protruding tree root and perform any tree root removal. This work may consume up to 14 calendar days inside the 60 day period of performance allowed for the contractor's work to demo and install. •<img src="file:///d:\users\554139\TEMP\msohtmlclip1\01\clip_image001.png" alt="*" width="13" height="13" /> Step 3 - New Product must meet or exceed the performance requirements of CPSC, ASTM F 1292 and/or CSA Z614-98 that a surface yield both a peak deceleration of no more than 200 g's and a Head injury criteria (HIC) value of no more than 1,000 for head-first fall from minimum 4' platform; Product shall pass flammability ASTM D2859 and coefficient of friction ASTM D2047; Product shall handle a minimum of 8" of rainfall per hour. Color of finished material: Tan & Terra Cotta Red •<img src="file:///d:\users\554139\TEMP\msohtmlclip1\01\clip_image001.png" alt="*" width="13" height="13" /> Step 4 - Contractor shall submit MSDS and product data sheets on all materials to Yolanda Patton for government review and approval within 10 days of contract award. Government review may take up to 14 calendar days inside the contractor's 60 day period of performance. •<img src="file:///d:\users\554139\TEMP\msohtmlclip1\01\clip_image001.png" alt="*" width="13" height="13" /> Step 5 - All materials under this SOW shall be installed by the manufacturer or its certified installers who have no less than 3 years of experience. •<img src="file:///d:\users\554139\TEMP\msohtmlclip1\01\clip_image001.png" alt="*" width="13" height="13" /> Step 6 - Finished new surface shall be level in height with the adjacent concrete sidewalk. In order to match the level of the concrete sidewalk, the contractor shall bring in additional sub-base in area of compaction not to exceed 3" and 400 SF as is appropriate for a 4' critical fall height. •<img src="file:///d:\users\554139\TEMP\msohtmlclip1\01\clip_image001.png" alt="*" width="13" height="13" /> Step 7 - Contractor shall provide at least 3" of new poured in place material as is appropriate for a 4' critical fall height. Finished new surface shall be level in height with the adjacent concrete sidewalk. •<img src="file:///d:\users\554139\TEMP\msohtmlclip1\01\clip_image001.png" alt="*" width="12" height="12" /> Step 8 - Area that will be replaced does not include security fencing during cure period. The play yard will be closed during construction. Contractor to provide specific directions for non-usage periods. •<img src="file:///d:\users\554139\TEMP\msohtmlclip1\01\clip_image001.png" alt="*" width="13" height="13" /> Step 9 - Surfacing shall maintain required impact attenuation characteristics and be guaranteed against defects in workmanship and material for a period of no less than five years. Work shall be accomplished only from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM Saturdays and Sundays. The contractor shall be schedule onsite work with Yolanda Patton at 510.970.4126 at least 3 days in advance of the onsite work.
