- Description
- Auto contouring, image registration and fusion software for radiation oncology Request for Information Questions/Industry Input Needed This is a Request for Information (RFI) to conduct market research solely for information and planning purposes; it does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP) or a promise to issue a RFP in the future. This request does not commit the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to contract for any supply or service whatsoever. VA is not, at this time, seeking proposals and will not accept unsolicited proposals. Responders are advised that VA will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this RFI; all costs associated with responding to this RFI will be solely at the interested vendor's expense. Not responding to this RFI does not preclude participation in any future RFP, if any is issued. Any information submitted by respondents to this RFI is strictly voluntary. All submissions become Government property and will not be returned. Background/Requirements Target and normal tissue delineation is one of the most important, but arduous and time consuming steps of the advanced radiotherapy planning and delivery process. There are 40 VA Medical Centers that offer in-house Radiation Therapy (see Attachment B). Traditionally, radiation oncologists and dosimetrists manually delineate these structure on imaging datasets; slice-by-slice for each treatment plan, which can take several hours. Imaging informatics software is necessary in order to increase accuracy and efficiency in the radiation treatment planning process, adapting treatment to change in anatomy due to physiological changes, and for radiotherapy response assessment. Such software will provide the ability to perform multi-modality 3-dimensional deformable image registration and automatically contour tumor volumes and critical structures in all regions of the body. The capability to measure radiotherapy response and ability to adapt radiation treatment to changing anatomy will benefit patient care and improve accuracy. Contractor shall provide imaging informatics software and license for a 12-month base period plus four, 12-month option periods for integration of diagnostic images and auto contouring into radiation therapy treatment planning process. Questions In support of this effort, VA is conducting market research to help further refine requirements and establish the best acquisition approach. 1.Company Information Name of Company: DUNS Number: Address: Point of Contact: Phone Number: Fax Numbers: Email Address: Please identify your company's Small Business size status based upon the applicable NAICS code of 541519.
