Description
This is sources sought announcement only. The purpose of this notice is to conduct market research and obtain information from qualified companies. No formal solicitation document exists at this time. The Government is not obligated to nor will it pay for or reimburse any costs associated with responding to this sources sought synopsis request. This notice shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation or ultimately award a contract, nor does it restrict the Government to a particular acquisition approach. The Government will in no way be bound to this information if any solicitation is issued. Charles George Veterans Affairs Medical Center 1100 Tunnel Road Asheville, North Carolina 28805 is seeking potential sources capable of providing Medical Physicist Services to the Radiation, Imaging, Nuclear Medicine etc., at the Asheville VA Medical Center in accordance with the Performance Work Statement. The applicable NAICS Code is 541690 with a size standard of $14.0M. Draft Performance Work Statement (PWS) listed below, THIS IS NOT THE COMPLETE DESCRIPTION LIST: VA MEDICAL CENTER-ASHEVILLE MEDICAL PHYSICIST CONTRACT ROLE SUMMARY A.Provide quarterly, semi-annual, and annual physics calibration, audits and surveys and program reviews and any additional surveys or performance measures as deemed necessary by the Radiation Safety Officer and/or Imaging Service Chief for the diagnostic radiology equipment, nuclear medicine equipment, personnel dosimetry program, ALARA program and radiation safety program for the CGVAMC. Each CGVAMC site visit shall have a written report provided within ten (30) calendar days after the site visit. B.Contractor shall review CGVAMC Quality Control Procedures for all nuclear medicine cameras, dose calibrators, well counter/uptake probe and diagnostic radiographic equipment to ensure compliance with established NHPP and other appropriate standards. Any discrepancies shall be verbally reported to the Radiation Safety Officer and/or Chief, Imaging Service at the time of the visit, followed by a written report furnished within ten (30) calendar days of discovery so that corrective action can be initiated by the AVAMC. C.It may be necessary for the Imaging Service to contact the contractor for support services; Contractor shall be available to the Radiation Safety Officer and/or Chief, Imaging Service within four (4) hours driving time of notification by the Radiation Safety Officer and/or Chief, Imaging Service. D.All contracting physicists performing services at the CGVAMC must be qualified medical physicists as indicated in 10 CFR §35.51 and provide described Board Certification or proof of eligibility. E.The contractor shall perform related functions as deemed necessary by the facility Radiation Safety Officer to comply with future regulatory changes. F. Annual: a.Tube Quality Assurance on all diagnostic radiography tubes (200 hrs.) b.Patient skin entrance dose estimates for all diagnostic units for a range of common procedures for Radiology and Nuclear Medicine (30 hrs.) c.Fluoroscopic user education (20 hrs.) d.Diagnostic Radiographic Technologist education (8 hrs.) Semi-Annual: Nuclear Medicine Sealed Source Leak Tests Quarterly: Nuclear Medicine Sealed Source Inventory Nuclear Medicine Physics Audit-to include all NM QA/QC records Responses to this sources sought notice should include the following: name and address of company; business size (large or small); identify whether or not firm falls into any of the following socioeconomic categories - 8(a), HUBZone, Service Disabled Veteran-Owned; brief capability statement of qualifications and any other pertinent information, which demonstrates ability to meet the above requirement.
