Description

This is a Sources Sought for Market Research Purposes Only. The VA VISN 2 Upstate New York Healthcare system is issuing a Sources Sought to determine how many vendors that can provide Interior & Exterior Signage. The Medical Center is in need of signage/wayfinding development and support services. This project will expand the newly implemented signage system / wayfinding scheme into uncompleted areas at the Buffalo and Batavia Medical Center. This project must continue the same wayfinding scheme, directional tactics, graphics and signage components to provide a cohesive and consistent signage system throughout the campus to easily guide patients throughout the facility reducing stresses on both patients and staff. The project is crucial to user's experience at the VA Medical Center for code compliance and to ensure veterans, their families, and personnel can quickly and easily navigate through the facility. The Western New York Healthcare Systems has developed a wayfinding signage master plan and implemented key components of the system. This project is a continuation of this master plan and it is imperative the signage must exactly match the newly implemented system. The continuation of the existing signage system will include but not limited to: A. Interior Room Identification Where required the vendor shall program, manufacture and install interior room and identification signs. This will involve programming and sign location plans being prepared including a complete sign message schedule identifying each sign, its message and its type. Interior Room Identification should follow the design standard already set by the VA per attached drawings. Room Identification signs must feature an open license application that auto scales the copy to fit each sign approximately for creating new sign inserts in house on any standard computer or printer. B. Directional and Wayfinding Signage These signs shall be designed, manufactured and installed including a complete sign message schedule identifying each sign, its message and its type. Sign location plans shall be prepared showing the placement/location of directional signs. A report must accompany this identifying the general wayfinding theory, themes and plan being implemented. Directional and Wayfinding signage should follow the design standard already set by the VA per attached drawings. C. Life Safety and Regulatory Signage These signs shall be designed, manufactured and installed including life safety, code and regulatory signage. This will involve programming and sign location plans being prepared for regulatory, code and life safety signs. Life Safety and Regulatory signage should follow the design standard already set by the VA per attached drawings. D. Exterior Signage This will involve programming, manufacturing and installation of exterior signs as noted. This shall include a complete sign message schedule identifying each sign, its message and its type. Sign location plans shall be prepared showing the placement/location of directional signs. A report must accompany this identifying the general wayfinding theory, themes and plan being implemented. Directional and Wayfinding signage should follow the design standard already set by the VA Per attached drawings. This is more than a signage replacement project and requires an experienced wayfinding designer. E. Exterior Solar Signage When required these signs shall be designed, manufactured and installed with solar technology. The solar signage must have a guaranteed 7 days of night time illumination without sunlight. The solar technology and panels should be incorporated into the sign (not separate units). Signs with solar technology should have the same general design style as signs without solar technology. F. Specialty Displays - Feature Walls Where required these specialty displays and feature walls shall be designed, manufactured and installed. This includes architectural letters, artwork, cast seals, acid etched plaques and other items to create veteran focused displays and landmarks to build esprit de corps with veterans and aid wayfinding. All work shall be completed at Government Furnished Facility located at Buffalo and Batavia New York. This Sources Sought is to determine the capability of potential sources and the availability of sources and services pursuant to FAR Part 10.
