- The Cherry Point Satellite Contracting Office, Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS), Cherry Point, NC 28533 hereby gives notice of intent to award a sole source purchase order to AAR Defense Systems & Logistics (1Y249), 1100 North Wood Dale Road, Wood Dale, IL 60191. AAR is the authorized distributor for Hamilton Sundstrand the manufacturer of the V22 Osprey Auxiliary Power Unit. Market research has revealed Hamilton Sundstrand is the manufacturer who maintains the proprietary drawing and is the only source capable of manufacturing the required item, as implemented by the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The Fleet Readiness Center (FRC) East Support Team, MCAS Cherry Point, NC intends to procure: Thirty (30) each, Mating-Carbon Seal Rings, part number 4952301 Twenty (20) each, Anti Rotation Ring Assembly, part number 4506532 as required to fulfill the Government's requirement. These parts are direct replacement parts for the V22 Osprey and are only available through AAR Defense Systems & Logistics. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. However, all quotes received within fifteen (15) days after the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered. Interested parties may identify their interest and unique capabilities to respond to this requirement or submit their quote. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
