- The National Aeronautics and Space Administration, Ames Research Center (NASA/ARC) is hereby soliciting information about potential sources, for an approximately 6-month award, for the following services: - Maintain the dark fiber assets for High End Computing (HEC) and the agency Office of Chief Information Officer (OCIO) - Support the High Performance Networking between NASA Ames Research Center (ARC), NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), and the co-locations. - Provide peering connectivity and network with researchers, international high performance research networks, and institutions. Deliverables: Dark fiber: o6 pairs of dark fiber and maintenance from the ARC Gateway building (N254) to the co-location facility at 1360 and 1380 Kifer Road, Sunnyvale, CA. oAdditional fiber pairs and maintenance as necessary. Exchange traffic between NASA and other associates (Caltech, Stanford, UC campuses, SDSC, USC, some K-12 schools in CA, etc.) at a rate of 10 Gbps. Support for NASA to leverage a distributed peering network in Sunnyvale, CA, Los Angeles, CA and Seattle, WA. Provide NASA with a shared 10 Gbps peering connection. Shared Co-location facilities : oCo-location 1 rack and power in the building at 1380 Kifer Road, Sunnyvale, CA. oCo-location 1 rack and power in the building at 818 West 7th Street, Los Angeles, CA. Dedicate 10 Gbps wave to enable NASA to send traffic between the facilities in Sunnyvale, CA and Los Angeles, CA. Dedicate 10 Gbps Layer 2 (VLAN) connectivity to Internet2s ION Service to provide dynamic circuits in support of periodic need for high capacity links to researchers at academic institutions. Support of cross-connection between two buildings (1360 and 1380) in Sunnyvale, CA. Provide NASA with a diverse backup 1 Gbps to the primary 10 Gbps HPR connection. Allow NASA to make use of limited term 100 Gbps interconnections for technology evaluation and demonstration purposes. Allow NASA to continue the peering network with researchers, scientists, institutions, and higher education communities in California. NASA/ARC is seeking capability statements from all interested parties, including Small, Small Disadvantaged (SDB), 8(a), Woman-owned (WOSB), Veteran Owned (VOSB), Service Disabled Veteran Owned (SD-VOSB), Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone) businesses, and Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU)/Minority Institutions (MI) for the purposes of determining the appropriate level of competition and/or small business subcontracting goals. The Government reserves the right to consider a Small, 8(a), Woman-owned (WOSB), Service Disabled Veteran (SD-VOSB), or HUBZone business set-aside based on responses hereto. No solicitation exists; therefore, do not request a copy of the solicitation. If a solicitation is released it will be synopsized in FedBizOpps and on the NASA Acquisition Internet Service. It is the potential offerors responsibility to monitor these sites for the release of any solicitation or synopsis. Interested offerors/vendors having the required specialized capabilities to meet the above requirement should submit a capability statement indicating the ability to perform all aspects of the effort described herein. This synopsis is for information and planning purposes and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government nor will the Government pay for information solicited. Respondents will not be notified of the results of the evaluation. Respondents deemed fully qualified will be considered in any resultant solicitation for the requirement.
