- The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) Research Triangle Park, NC 27709 intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with GE Healthcare Bio-Science, Piscataway, NJ 08855, pursuant to 41 U.S.C.253(c)(1)--Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This procurement is for (1) each of the following: 1) #28998785/AKTA purifier 10 with Desktop Control system (qty 1) each. 2) #18110776/Monitor pHC-900 (qty 1) each. 3) #18111105/ Conductivity Cell (qty 1) each. 4) #18608300/ Fraction Collector FRAC-950 (qty 1) each. 5) #18608313/ Racks C Micro Plates FRAC-950 (qty 1) each. 6) #11003595/ Column Screening Kit (qty 1) each. 7) #11003600/ Sample Application Kit (qty 1) each. 8) #18117584/ Air Sensor A-912N Kit (qty 1) each. This is a chromatography system designed to purify proteins under low t medium pressure conditions. It is compatible with our existing system and those NIEHS researchers that use the protein procession core supports. In addition to compatibility issue with existing equipment and columns, the chromatography system must have a wetted flow path that is insert to halides. The controller should allow programs to the time-, volume- or column volume-based. The fraction collector should be fully integrated into the system and controllable by the system software. The system must be specified for use in cold refrigerated conditions at 4 degrees C. It must include a three-position injection valve for automatic loading of the sample onto the column. Documentation of each run on the system should be automatic and exhaustive, so that no detail is left unrecorded. A UV detector that monitors simultaneously at least three wavelengths is needed. The system must also track conductivity of the sample in real time as well as test pH as the sample elutes. This system includes a fraction collector for the AKTA system an essential part of the system. This fraction collector provides the maximal flexibility for method development with the AKTA system. The fraction collector is compatible with the systems and supported by the software for the AKTA chromatography systems. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability. Respond to this requirement by submitting written capabilities/specifications to the Purchasing Agent using the provided email address. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, all responses received within 8 days from the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract action based upon responses to this notice is solely with the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. If no affirmative responses are received within 8 days of this notice to determine whether a qualified source is more advantageous to the Government, an order will be placed with GE Healthcare Bio-Science. The NAICS Code/Size is 334519/500. This procurement is to be processed using Simplified Acquisition Procedures in conjunction with FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items and is not expected to exceed the Simplified Acquisition threshold of $150,000.
