- Description
- The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) intends to award a sole source contract to the following U.S. owned, small business: Motion Reality, Inc., 200 North Cobb Parkway, Suite 140, Marietta, GA 30062 under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 13.106-1(b)(1). Posting of this Special Notice is in accordance with FAR 5.102(a)(6). The intended award will follow policies and procedures set forth in FAR Part 12 Acquisition of Commercial Items and Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The FBI requires supplies to operate the VirtSim system- virtual reality system to train New Agents as well as other FBI entities and other law enforcement personnel. This consists of the following items: (6) MWC with HMD Headset, (6) Training gear set, (6) scaling belts, (6) batteries and (6) battery chargers. Motion Reality designs, builds, and has copyright authority on this system and, therefore is the only vendor capable of providing the necessary gear to utilize in the system. The FBI intends to issue a firm-fixed price purchase order on or about July 2, 2013 to Motion Reality. This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, interested parties may identify their interests and capability to respond to this requirement by written response by 10:00 AM EST on July 2, 2013 via email to Amanda.Pennel@ ic.fbi.gov and Tamara.Meheux@ic.fbi.gov. Reference- VirtSim accessories. Capability statements must contain sufficient detail that clearly demonstrate the contractor's capabilities and the ability to comply with above requirement. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
