- The following are the answers to questions provided regarding the solicitation for Primary Metro E Data Services for San Juan Station 672, Request for Quote (RFQ) VA118-13-Q-183 1)Question: Is topology of any point to any point? (is this Hub and spoke or just direct Internet access to facility) Answer: Topology is point to any point. 2)Question: Is termination equipment required? Answer: Vendor to provide VA with Virtual Private Network connective, VA will provide and maintain network switching and routing (CPE) equipment at each location. 3)Question: Colocation facility is required in PR to do any to any point, is there a preferred provider? How do we price the equipment & colo costs? (there isn't a place on the table to include these charges) Are you providing all hardware? Answer: Please reference PWS paragraph 5.2.2 4)Question: Are diverse paths required? Answer: Please reference PWS paragraph 5.2.2 5)Question: Will VA accept alternate bids? (1 yr & 3 yr bids) Answer: Please reference PWS paragraph 4.1 6)Question: Is VA funding the project with annual appropriations? (reason for the yr to yr pricing?) Answer: Funding is through annual appropriations. 7)Question: What is the timeframe for installation? Answer: Please reference PWS paragraph 5.2.1 8)Question: Non-Recurring Charges (NRC) - again no place on the table to include NRC. Are you assuming no NRC? Answer: Non-recurring Charges should be included under CLIN 0019 'Installation and Cutover Plan located in VA118-13-Q-0182 v1 revised. 9)Question: Intrusive Testing: What kind intrusive testing your agency expect from us? Answer: If the Vendor technicians, while working on a network problem deem that need to use intrusive testing as a troubleshooting method and if it has the possibility of causing any adversely effecting VA's network performance the Vendor shall comply with PWS requirement paragraph 5.2.6. 10)Question: Network Monitoring: What kind of network monitoring your agency expected from us? Uptime & Bandwidth only or a most deep test with memory and processor utilization? Answer: See PWS paragraph 5.2.9 11) Question: Does your agency want security monitoring? (IDS, IPS Firewalling)? Answer: VA provides its own terminal equipment, monitoring of the integrity of the facilities is the responsibility of the contractor.
