- Description
- Sources Sought Notification for a Tissue Homogenizer (Dissociator) and a Single Cell Sorter (Separator). MARKET RESEARCH PURPOSES ONLY NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL OR SOLICITATION The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), is conducting market research to support the National Center for Toxicological Research (NCTR) requirement for a Tissue Homogenizer (Dissociator) and a Single Cell Sorter (Separator). The FDA is seeking business sources, including total small businesses, service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses, HUBZone small businesses, 8(a) certified companies and other than small businesses. In addition, the FDA is seeking business sources to determine the availability and capability of small business manufacturers or small businesses capable of supplying a U.S. made product of a small business manufacturer or producer. The associated North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is- 334516 - Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing; Small Business Size Standard of 500 Employees. The following information is provided to assist the FDA in conducting Market Research to identify potential contractors for this effort: Specifications: Specifications for a Tissue Homogenizer (Dissociator) and a Single Cell Sorter (Separator) (Req: 1120939): The dissociator is a small table-top machine capable of both homogenizing tissue and creating live single-cell suspensions from tissue, depending on the tube and settings used. It is capable of processing two samples at once, allowing faster preparation of tissue for protein analysis and DNA /RNA extraction. It also allows homogenization to be performed in a completely closed system, preventing contamination and preserving experimental integrity. The dissociator should come with but not limited to the following: • A dissociator system is required. • The following accessories are required for use with the dissociator: • 25 C • 25 M Tubes The separator, is equipment that allows the user to magnetically separate specific subpopulations (live cells extracted from homogenized tissue) of cells from tissue or other biological environments. The separator is automated and multiple samples can be handled and processed. Thus, reducing user error while allowing the isolated cells to be used for other experimentation - culturing, flow cytometry and or inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS). An automated magnetic cell separator is required. The separator should come with but not limited to the following: • mini-sampler • reagent rack • chill racks (i.e. Chill 5, Chill 15, Chill 50) • 5x2 column substitutes and 2x2 pro buffer combinations • Installation and custom training are required. • One (1) year parts and labor warranty required Delivery Locations: National Center for Toxicological Research 3900 NCTR Road Bldg. 85 Jefferson, AR 72079 Responses to this sources sought shall unequivocally demonstrate that respondent is regularly engaged in the manufacture and/or sale of same or substantially similar items.
