- Wage determination Virginia, 2005-2543 Rev 14 dated 06/13/12 is applicable to the following service order: 1.0 ABSTRACT This item describes the requirement to perform inspections, adjustments, servicing, upgrade, and submit a detail report of findings on USNS WILLIAM MCLEAN Lifeboats, Fast Rescue Boats, Duplex Release Gears, Winches, and Accommodation Ladders. 2.0 REFERENCES 2.1 Tech Manual TS800-AE-MMC-010; Lifeboat w/Davit, FASSMER Type CL-C11.5 2.2 Checklist for FASSMER Duplex Release Gear Annually 2.3 Checklist for FASSMER Lifeboats Annually 2.4 Checklist for FASSMER Fast Rescue Boats Annually 2.5 Fiberglass and Gel coat Inspection Document Checklist for Annual Accommodation Ladder Inspection 2.6 FASSMER Service Bulletin on Gangways and Accommodation Ladders 2.7 Upgrade to FASSMER Duplex E Release Systems 3.0 ITEM LOCATION/QUANTITY/DESCRIPTION 3.1 Location: Various Lifeboat locations 3.2 Quantity: Various 3.3 Description: CLR-C11.5 Lifeboats, FRR 6.5 Fast Rescue Boats, MEI Davits, Winches, and Accommodation Ladders 4.0 GOVERNMENT FURNISHED EQUIPMENT/MATERIAL/SERVICES: None. 5.0 NOTES 5.1. Performance Period: 5-18 Aug 2013, or as scheduled by Principle Port Engineer (PPE). 5.2. Performance Location: Norfolk, VA 5.3. Ship and Base Access: See contract/purchase order. 5.4. The contractor and subcontractors shall obey all posted and verbal instructions regarding safety and exclusion from High Voltage areas. At no time shall a contractor or subcontractor approach, work on, or enter a High Voltage area without proper authorization. THE USNS T-AKE CLASS ELECTRICAL COLOR CODING DOES NOT FOLLOW CONSISTENT COLOR SCHEME. THE SHIP IS KNOWN TO HAVE CURRENT CARRYING CONDUCTORS COLORED GREEN, BLUE, BLACK AND WHITE. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL ASSUME ALL ELECTRICAL CABLES ARE HOT UNTIL TESTED OTHERWISE. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL TEST ALL ELECTRICAL CABLES TO ENSURE THEY ARE DEAD PRIOR TO WORKING ON THE ITEM. 6.0 QUALITY ASSURANCE REQUIREMENTS: None additional. 7.0 STATEMENT OF WORK: 7.1. Use References 2.0 as guidance. 7.2. Upgrade existing release hooks on the four lifeboats with new FASSMER Duplex E Release Systems shown on reference 2.7. 7.3. Perform inspection on all FASSMER Duplex Release Gears, including adjustments and servicing, in accordance with reference 2.2. Complete checklist. 7.4. Perform inspection on the ship's four (4) FASSMER Lifeboats and davits in accordance with reference 2.3. Complete checklist. 7.5. Perform inspection on the ship's two (2) FASSMER Fast Rescue Boats in accordance with reference 2.4. Complete checklist. 7.6. Perform fiberglass and gel coat inspections on the ship's four (4) FASSMER Lifeboats in accordance with reference 2.5. 7.7. Conduct an annual inspection of the two (2) accommodation ladders and winches in accordance with reference 2.6, and record findings. 7.8. Assist ABS and USCG during the ABS annual survey and annual USCG COI conducted on the Life Boats and Accommodation Ladders. 7.9. Submit a final report, in electronic adobe format, of completed check lists, of conditions found, discrepancies corrected, and recommendations for any process improvements noted during inspection. Final report shall include the four (4) Lifeboats, two (2) Fast Rescue Boats and all Duplex Release Gears serviced, fiberglass and gel-coat inspection, and (2) Accommodation Ladders inspection. Submit report to the Port Engineer, Chief Engineer and Chief Mate 8.0 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: None additional.
