Description

The VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System (VAPHS), 1010 Delafield Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15215, is seeking professional design services from an architect-engineering (A/E) firm to develop preliminary/working drawings and specifications to install and relocate sterile processing equipment and improve the Sterile Processing Service Line (SPS) space functionality at VAPHS, Building 1, University Drive Campus, Pittsburgh, PA 15240, as described in Project # 646-13-102 "UD, Site Prep for Washer Disinfectors". This project includes, but is not limited to the following: Develop preliminary drawings, working drawings, and specifications to relocate existing sterile processing equipment; install new sterile processing equipment; and improve the Sterile Processing Service Line's space functionality at Building 1 at the UD Division of VAPHS. This work includes, but is not limited to installation of new equipment, architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection design services. The Sterile Processing Service Line has purchased 2 washer-disinfectors to meet increased demand for sterilized tools and equipment. SPS will also be purchasing new healthcare prep/processing tables to increase the efficiency of their processes. In preparation for the addition of new equipment, new utilities and relocation of existing utilities will need to be provided to prep this space for the new equipment. This provides an opportunity to reconfigure the area to solve the following issues: egress issues due to cluttered tables; break room not compliant with space policy for VHA employees; and space not sufficient for increased staffing. This procurement is 100% set aside for Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB) registered and verified at www.vetbiz.gov. The magnitude of construction is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. The NAICS code is 541330 and the small business size standard is $14 million. Interested firms shall submit three (3) copies of current Standard Form 330, Architect-Engineer Qualifications (available on-line) and include the same information on a disk so it can be filed electronically. The outer envelope MUST clearly identify the Solicitation Number (VA244-13-R-0711) and the project name (646-13-102, UD Site Prep for Washer Disinfectors). Hand delivered packages will also be accepted. In addition to the SF 330's, please include a cover sheet containing the following information: NAME, ADDRESS, POINT OF CONTACT, AND EMAIL OF COMPANY NUMBER OF COMPLETED AND/OR CURRENT VA PROJECTS SOCIO-ECONOMIC STATUS OF AND DUNS NUMBER FOR CONTRACTOR AND ALL PROPOSED CONSULTANTS Phone inquiries, faxes, and electronic submissions will not be accepted. The deadline for receipt of SF-330's is July 17, 2013 at 2:00pm EST. Selection criteria shall be in accordance with FAR 36.602-1 and VAAR 836.602. This is not a request for proposal. The Government is under no obligation to award a contract as a result of this sources sought announcement.
