Description
Health Provider Systems (HPS) -Clinical Program Request for Information THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY. This request is for planning purposes only, and does not constitute a Request for Proposal, Solicitation, a Request for Quote, or an indication that the Government will award a contract for the items contained in this RFI. This notice is not be construed as a commitment on the part of the Government to award a contract, nor does the Government reimburse respondents for any costs associated with submission of the information being requested, or reimburse expenses incurred for responses to this RFI. The Government is seeking all business types that have the capability or capacity to provide the items and services identified below. 1.Background: The Veterans Administration (VA), Office of Information and Technology (OIT), Veterans Health Information Technology (VHIT) is responsible for the Clinical Ancillary Services. The Health Provider Systems (HPS) program's purpose is to provide maintenance and enhancements in the HPS-Clinical program, including maintenance and minor enhancements to Veterans Health Information Systems and Technology Architecture (VistA) with respect to mandates and patient safety issue resolution. 2.OIT Process: On June 19, 2009, the Assistant Secretary for Information and Technology (AS/I&T) announced a substantial change in the way Information Technology (IT) Programs are planned and managed at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). This new process, the Program Management Accountability System (PMAS), requires that all IT programs use incremental development to focus on near-term, small deliveries of new capabilities to VA internal customers. PMAS is intended to create an environment that ensures the customer, program team and vendors working on a program are aligned by a single compelling measure - achieving the next milestone. 3.Objective: The VA OIT is investigating the availability of contract resources that has experience in VistA development and testing to address mandates and patient safety issues related on Clinical Ancillary modules within VA VistA, such as Outpatient and Inpatient Pharmacy. 4.Questions: 1.Does your company have background or experience with complete Software Development Life-Cycle (SDLC) on the VA VistA System? This is to include; project management, planning, requirements, coding, testing, and support of initial deployment into test environment and national deployment. a.Please describe the types of roles, responsibilities, and associated tasks your company has performed in related work or contracts (including contract numbers)? b.On which specific VistA modules does your company have experience? c.Can you provide the VistA patch description and release numbers of any patches your company has completed as examples? 5.Submission Instructions It is requested that any interested and qualified company submit the information required below via email to the point of contact listed at this bottom of this announcement. Interested companies shall provide the following information: - Company Name; - CAGE/DUNS Number under which the company is registered in SAM.gov - Company Address; - Point of contact name; - Telephone number; - Email address; - Company's business size, including applicable North American Industry -Classification System (NAICS) code(s); and - Response to Questions listed in number 4 (10 page limit) - Additional Questions related to the Effort.
