Description
RDNS-WPS12 June 2013 SUBJECT: Special Operations Eyewear Package (SOEP) Program Manager-Special Operations Forces-Survival, Support and Equipment Systems (PM-SOF SSES) is conducting a market investigation to identify eye protection technology that meets or exceeds the performance requirements in this document. SOEP is a package consisting of goggles, spectacles and potentially hybrid goggles/spectacles with associated retention systems. PM-SOF SSES is also interested in photochromic technology and any future technologies related to eye protection. As part of this market investigation PM-SOF SSES will host an Industry Day on 25 July 2013 where Interested Sources will at no cost to the Government present applicable products and data at PM-SOF SSES, Natick MA. Requirements: SOEP shall meet the following requirements SOEP shall provide protection against: oBallistic fragmentation According to MIL-PRF-32432. oUltraviolet light oImpact (ANSI z87.1) oLaser wavelengths SOEP shall meet the optics requirements of ANSI z87.1 Lenses shall be easily interchangeable without the use of tools oShall Include clear, sun-light and laser protective SOEP shall come in a portable, crush resistant case that contains the system and all of its components and can be easily attached to SOF load-carriage systems. SOEP must have the ability to be easily donned and doffed, be prescription compatible and be compatible with current SOF helmets, VAS, communication and weapons systems. Products must be made in the USA Interested sources must be prepared to present the following information on their product(s)/technology. Participation in the industry day will only be allowed if the following is submitted and the undersigned confirms the interested source's participation. At a minimum, sources shall provide the following information no later than 12 July 2013 and be prepared to speak to it on the day of the event: 1.Identification of the company, location, point of contact, business size and any special status. 2.Description of the proposed product or technology (samples if applicable). 3.Relevant technical information (specifications, data sheets, drawings, engineering analysis, etc.) 4.Cost information (each) 5.Projected delivery time ARO This market investigation/industry day in no way constitutes an obligation by the Government to purchase any material, data or services. Any information/samples received as a result of this RFI are at no cost to the Government. The Government will not provide funding for travel to/from the Industry Day. When a respondent must include proprietary data in order to fully communicate their product/technology, the respondent must clearly mark and identify any proprietary data that the respondent intends to be used only by the Government for evaluation purposes. The Government reserves the right to use information provided by respondents for any purpose deemed necessary and legally appropriate. Any organization responding to this notice should ensure that its response is complete and sufficiently detailed.
