Description

The VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System intends to negotiate on a sole source basis for an EchoMRI 4-in-1 for Live Animals Organs and Biopsy equipment to Echo MRI LLC, 14781 MEMORIAL DR STE 222, Houston, TX 77079, under the authority of (FAR) 6.302-1 (Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements). This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. This announcement constitutes the only notice; proposals are not being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The corresponding NAICS code is 334516 -Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing. The sole source determination is based on the fact that Echo MRI is the only machine that uses Quantitative Magnetic Resonance (QMR) technology and possess three patents on this technology. Echo MRI holds patented technology that provides the precision and accuracy of measurements required. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement, in writing, no later than the response date. Written responses to this notice shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bona fide capability to fulfill the requirement. Written responses shall be submitted electronically NO LATER THAN 9:00 A.M. EASTERN STANDARD TIME June 13, 2013 to lynn.portman@va.gov. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
