- Description
- Provide a new mass notification/fire alarm system (MNFAS) in Building C1 at Naval Support Activity (NSA) Mid-South, Millington, Tennessee. The new MNFAS shall meet all Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) and Department of Defense (DoD) requirements, as well as all applicable National Fire Protection Association (NPFA) codes and standards. The work will include, but is not limited to, designing and installing the new MNFAS, monitoring of all fire alarm related devices, monitoring of the existing Gemini-Kidde CO2 system panel, reconnection to the existing Signal Communications transmitter, demolition of the existing fire alarm system, and patching/repairing surfaces damaged by work associated with either the installation or demolition. This building shall remain occupied and operational during the installation of this MNFAS. Relocation of non-permanently mounted office furniture or office equipment shall be the responsibility of the Contractor. In an attempt to minimize the impact on the Building C1 tenants, the installation of the MNFAS will be limited to work in one quadrant of each floor in the building. Once complete in one quadrant the Contractor can move to next one. The Contractor shall anticipate each floor being divided into quadrants. This project will include installing a MNFAS in all areas that is capable of providing audible levels and intelligible levels as required by NFPA 72 and UFC 4-021-01. Provide power from the existing building power supply to all MNFAS power supplies and panels according to NFPA 72 and NFPA 70. Connection between the new transmitter zones and the appropriate MNFAS contacts is required.
