Description

The Department of Veteran Affairs; VA Butler Healthcare 325 New Castle Road, Butler PA 16001 has a requirement for Transitional Housing Services for Homeless Veterans who are eligible. All required services shall be performed by the successful contractor and shall take place at the contractor's existing facilities. The types of services the successful offer will be required to provide include, but are not limited to the following: "Residential Room and Board "Meals "Laundry facilities for residents to do their own laundry "Therapeutic, rehabilitative, and recovery services determined to be needed for the resident as outlined in the place developed by the contractor with consultation by the veteran and VA case manager and/or other appropriate VA staff. Examples of the types of therapeutic, rehabilitative, and recovery services required include, but are not limited to: "Structured group activities as appropriate, examples include group therapy, social skills training, Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, vocational counseling, and physical activities. "Collaboration with VA program staff that will provide supportive psychosocial services. "Individual professional counseling, including counseling on self care skills, adaptive coping skills, and as appropriate functioning, upgraded social skills, and improved personal relationships. "Support for an alcohol/drug abuse-free lifestyle. "Assistance to gain and apply knowledge of the illness/recovery process. A complete and detailed description of VA's requirement will be included in the Request for Proposal (RFP). There are no geographical restriction placed on who may submit proposals in response to the forthcoming RFP. However, offerors should be aware that to be considered technically acceptable for contract award, they must demonstrate that they have sufficient transportation resources in place and a plan to transport veteran residents placed at their facility by VA to work, community activities, and VA appointments. VA will be conducting site visits of all offerors' facilities prior to the award of the contract in accordance with the solicitation. In order to expedite the facility inspection process VA would like to perform site visits prior to the proposal due date.
