Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Office of Acquisition Operations, Strategic Acquisition Center, located 10300 Spotsylvania Ave, Suite 400, Fredericksburg, VA 22408, intends to enter into a contract on the basis of other than full and open competition for the procurement of a Hospital Accreditation Services. The VA intends to award a sole source, Firm Fixed Price Purchase Order to THE JOINT COMMISSION, One Renaissance Blvd. Oakbrook Terrace, IL 60181. The purchase order will be for 16 surveys at various VA Medical Facilities from June through October 2013. This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive proposals, a solicitation, or request for offerors; however, interested persons may identify their interest and capability, and respond to the SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE (VA798S-13-R-0114) posted April 9, 2013 on Federal Business Opportunities at https://www.vendorportal.ecms.va.gov/FBODocumentServer/DocumentServer.aspx?DocumentId=695886&FileName=VA798S-13-R-0114-000.docx. The Government will consider responses in the aforementioned SOURCES SOUGHT announcement. Any responses to the SOURCES SOUGHT must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government. Inquiries will only be accepted via email to betha.davis@va.gov. No telephone requests will be honored. A determination not to compete is solely within the discretion of the Government. This purchase order will allow VA facilities to maintain their accreditation status while a new requirement is solicited and the potential for open competition is explored. Justification for this sole source procurement is in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), Soliciting from a single source. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) Code for this effort is 813920, with a corresponding small business size standard $14 million. The estimated date of award for this action is June 7, 2013.
