- THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE ONLY. This is a request for information only for the purposes of conducting market research to provide data for planning purposes only. This is not a request for proposal or solicitation and does not represent a commitment to issue a solicitation or award a contract. The purpose of this notice is to conduct market research to help determine the current relevant qualifications, experience, and capabilities of small businesses that are interested in performing the work described herein. Information received will be used to determine the availability/interest and technical capabilities/experience of responsible small business firms and will assist the Government in determining the appropriate acquisition method for this project. The General Services Administration, Region 7, Public Building Service is seeking sources capable of providing Elevator Modernization construction services on one (1) Traction Service elevator at the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals, Wisdom bldg located at 600 Camp Street, New Orleans, LA. The scope of work includes, but is not limited to, modernize one (1) existing Traction Service elevator. Provide new: geared or gearless AC machines, solid state microprocessor controls, doors and entrances, and all associated work to provide one complete new elevator. All work performed under this contract shall meet or exceed the current ASME-A17.1 Elevator Code and the Uniform Federal Accessibility Standards, and the Americans with Disabilities Act accessibility Guidelines (ADAAG). The estimated cost range for all work under this project is between $250,000.00 and $500,000.00. The appropriate NAICS code for this project is 238290 (Other Building Equipment Contractors) with a size standard of $14.0 Million. All qualified small businesses (under NAICS code), including but not limited to 8(a), Hubzone, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned, Woman-Owned, and other small businesses are encouraged to respond. Submission of any information in response to this market survey is purely voluntary; the government assumes no financial responsibility for any costs incurred. Large businesses need not respond. In responding to this sources sought, please submit a letter (maximum of 3 pages) indicating the following: (1) Name of your company, address, point of contract with phone number and email address; (2) Business size for the assigned NAICS code including socioeconomic designations (small business, 8a, Woman-Owned, etc.) including whether your interest is as a prime contractor, teaming partner or joint venture; (3) Brief description of your firm's recent and relevant experience, qualifications, and capabilities performing similar Elevator Modernization projects in size/complexity. Information should include no more than 3 recent projects and include the total $dollar value, brief scope of work description, location of project, and customer names and phone numbers; (4) Overall Bonding capacity; (5) If firm is interested as a part of a joint venture, provide company names of joint venture members and their business size(s). Please note that there is no solicitation available at this time; the purpose of this announcement is to identify available sources only. Award of any resulting procurement will be based on a source selection employing a "Best Value Concept" methodology. Interested parties should send responses to this notice via email no later than close of business on Monday, June 10, 2013 via email to Adam Jones, Contract Specialist at adam.w.jones@gsa.gov.
