FBO PRESOLICITATION NOTICE TRAUMA FOCUSED YOGA INSTRUCTOR Solicitation #:VA259-13-Q NAICS:611699 SBA Size Standards: $10.0 million PSC: Q201 SYNOPSIS DESCRIPTION This is a pre-solicitation announcement. The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office (NCO) 19 Rocky Mountain Acquisition Center, 4100 East Mississippi Avenue, Suite 900, Glendale, CO 80246 intends to issue a Request for Proposal on this Federal Business Opportunities website the week of June 17th, 2013, for a Trauma-Sensitive Certified Yoga Instructor. This requirement will be for a total Small Business Set Aside. The Salt Lake City Medical Center is seeking a qualified contractor to provide Trauma-Sensitive Certified Yoga Instructor(s) with a developed, systematic and objective approach to programs specifically designed for Trauma-Sensitive Yoga. The VA Salt Lake City Health Care System (SLC HCS) has conducted a pilot program for Trauma-Sensitive (TS) Yoga in the Women's Clinic. The results of this pilot program have had a positive effect. Trauma-Sensitive yoga is a body-based approach that used the mind and body to promote healing. This modality of yoga helps to create self-body awareness and calmness and safety for the patients. By releasing held tension, paying attention to the present, and regulating the nervous system, a somatic approach helps ease the feelings of helplessness, fear, arousal, and disconnection that can arise for trauma patients. The SLC HCS will be utilizing this program for our Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Military Sexual Trauma (MST) and other physical and psychological trauma. This will be a Firm-Fixed Price contract with a base year plus four option years dependent upon contractor performance. The successful offeror shall have certification in Trauma-Sensitive Yoga from the nationally recognized certificate program of the Trauma Center at the Justice Resource Institute (http://www.traumacenter.org/training/Yoga_Certification_Program.php). PLACE OF PERFORMANCE The contractor shall hold sessions in the space provided for them by the VA Salt Lake City Health Care System at 500 Foothill Drive, Salt Lake City, UT. DOCUMENTATION AND CERTIFICATION Offerors will be required to submit copies of their certification as a Trauma-Sensitive Yoga Instructor from the Trauma Center /Justice Resources Institute as well as a copy of their resume. PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE One base year from date of award plus four (4) one-year pre-priced options for renewal dependent upon contractor performance. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION The NAICS code is 611699; All Other Miscellaneous Schools and Instruction. The Small Business Size Standard is $10.0 million. The solicitation package will be available for download the week of June 17, 2013. Proposals submitted shall be due no later than June 24, 2013, 1:00PM Mountain Standard Time.
