Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) intends to issue a solicitation on or before the week of June 3 for LEC telecommunication voice services for the San Juan VA Medical Center main facility and its satellite facilities covering Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. VA anticipates a full and open commercial acquisition. This notice does not in itself represent the issuance of a formal request for proposal/quote and is not intended to be taken as such. The desired outcome of the overall project is the continuous, quality delivery of LEC voice services to the San Juan VA Medical Center main facility and its satellite facilities covering PR and the U.S. Virgin Islands. These services include delivery of Plain Old Telephone Service (POTS), point to point private line DS-1, Digital Subscriber Line (DSL), Off Premise Extension (OPX) service, Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) Primary Rate Interface (PRI), Direct Inward Dialing (DID) numbers, Business line (B1), DS-1 voice services, Private Branch Exchange (PBX) Trunk, and Ring Down. The outcomes also include delivery of Local Voice Telecommunication features such as hunting, call forwarding, call waiting, caller identification, call blocking, third party billing block, and voice mail. Contractor performance will be measured in terms of system failure restoration, customer support availability, service request response time, and telecommunication service availability.
