Description
The Naval Sea Systems Command, Headquarters (NAVSEA HQ) intends to hold an Industry Day on 06 June 2013 at 10:00 Eastern Daylight Time at Alion Science and Technology, 1100 New Jersey Ave SE, Suite 200, Independence C Room, Washington D.C. 20003. The Industry Day is being held to discuss a pilot program to evolve the Navy ™s ship maintenance, modernization and repair contracting strategy from the current Multiple-Ship/Multiple-Option (MSMO) strategy to a Multiple Award Contract-Multi Order (MAC-MO) strategy. The MAC-MO Pilot program for the maintenance, modernization and repair of DDG 51 and CG 47 class ships in San Diego, California will award Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contracts allowing both Firm Fixed Price and Cost Reimbursable orders and will utilize competitive procedures to the maximum extent practicable. The pilot is intended to determine the viability of the strategy and obtain lessons learned in anticipation of expanding the pilot approach to other ship classes and other homeports. The Industry Day will include an overview of the MAC-MO Pilot program and allow industry partners the opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback. Interested parties are required to RSVP for the Industry Day by close of business 04 June 2013 by email to Morgan Reese, Contracting Officer at morgan.reese@navy.mil and Traci Pichler, Contract Specialist at traci.pichler@navy.mil. The RSVP shall include the following information: Subject line: śMAC-MO Industry Day RSVP, ť and in the body of the email provide the attendees name, company name, nationality, e-mail address, and telephone number. Space in the scheduled conference room is limited. Therefore registration and access to the Industry Day will close after 85 industry personnel have provided an RSVP. In order to help ensure access to multiple companies, interested parties are limited to 5 attendees per company. Recording devices are not permitted at the event. The Government does not plan to issue a draft solicitation or provide additional information for review and comment prior to the 06 June 2013 Industry Day. This announcement is not a contract, request for proposal, a promise to contract, or a commitment of any kind on the part of the Government. NAVSEA does not assume liability for costs incurred by an attendee or for travel expenses or marketing efforts; therefore, attendee costs in response to this notice are not considered an allowable direct charge to the Government.
