Description

PROJECT DESCRIPTION The Contractor shall provide all personnel, equipment, tools, materials, transportation, supervision, and other support needed for Steam Valve Replacement at the VA Medical Center, 400 Fort Hill Avenue, Canandaigua NY 14424 EXISTING CONDITIONS The majority of the steam valves are in the basement of these buildings and are 30+ years old. There have been a few replacements over the years but these modifications and additions are quite old also. The valves are gate valves. The work area is the basement corridor above the drop ceiling tiles and the sub-basement of building 36 &37. The Valves in building 36 & 37are in a crawl space, with about a 5 foot ground clearance. The access for Building 36 & 37 crawl space is in the Sub Basement of these two buildings. For Building 36 workers will need to be fully protected & wear a respirator since the soil has asbestos in it. This procurement has been set aside 100% to Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business concerns. Offers from other than Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business concerns will NOT be considered and shall be rejected. Evaluation will be based on the Lowest Price Technically Acceptable (LPTA) source selection procedures. Solicitation packages will be available via FedBizOpps.gov on or about June 13, 2013. All questions concerning this project MUST be submitted electronically to the POC listed below. NO phone calls will be accepted. NAICS code is 238220 (Plumbing, Heating, and Air-Conditioning Contractors). Size standard is $14.0 million. The estimated magnitude of this project is between $25,000.00 and $100,000.00. The Davis-Bacon Act applies to this requirement. Offerors are encouraged to attend the Pre-Proposal Meeting and walk through at the Canandaigua VA Medical Center. The date, time, and place will be announced in the solicitation. NO OTHER WALK THROUGH WILL BE SCHEDULED. Offerors should re-visit the website located at www.fedbizopps.gov periodically to look for updates. All requests for information are required to be submitted in writing to the Contracting Officer and shall be received prior to the proposal due date specified in the solicitation. NO hardcopies, NO telephone inquiries or questions, and ONLY in writing. Award is subject to availability of funds. Emailed proposals will be accepted.
