Description
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New England District is issuing a solicitation set aside for certified small business contractors to replace the incoming power supply line located at the Fox Point Hurricane Barrier, located in Providence, Rhode Island. The NAICS code for the work described below is 238210, size standard of $14.0M. The construction is expected to occur in the Fall 2013 and will take approximately three months. The estimated construction cost is between $100,000.00 and $500,000.00. Any responsible source meeting this standard may submit a bid to be considered by the New England District. The Contractor shall provide all supervision, plant, labor, materials, tools and equipment, safety, quality control, and mobilization and demobilization necessary to perform the following scope of work: The removal, replacement, terminations, and testing of underground high voltage primary conductors within eight existing conduits (three conductors per conduit) from the National Grid point of demarcation in existing Manhole No. 1 (MH-1) to existing 11kv/4.16kv Transformers A and B on the main operating floor of the Barrier. Existing control wiring within conduit from the National Grid point of demarcation in existing Manhole No. 1 (MH-1) to the switchgear at the main operating floor is also to be removed, replaced, terminated, and tested. The work shall also include the removal, disposal, and replacement of bituminous concrete pavement and two manhole frames and covers at Manhole No. 3 (MH-3). Please note this solicitation is set aside for certified small business contractors under the applicable NAICS code 238210, size standard of $14.0M. This is not a request for proposals at this time; the solicitation requirements and contract documents to include instructions for submission and the response date will be available on or about May 28, 2013. Neither telephonic, mailed, nor faxed requests for hard copies of this solicitation will be accepted. The solicitation will only be available online; in order to download the solicitation, offerors must access the Federal Business Opportunities website (www.fbo.gov).
