Description

This is a sole source synopsis and published for informational purposes only. The United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), Special Operations Research, Development, and Acquisition Center (SORDAC), Directorate of Procurement intends to award a sole source contract under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 to Raytheon Company, McKinney, TX. Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the Government requirements for low rate initial production of the USSOCOM Silent Knight Radar. USSOCOM intends to issue a contract to Raytheon Company for up to ten (10) Silent Knight Radars, corresponding contractor support logistics, and spare parts to maintain the radars post production. The estimated award date is scheduled for first quarter FY14. Raytheon Company is currently under contract for the Silent Knight Radar design and development. The requirements identified in this notice of intent is in addition to the current LRIP option for six (6) radars and contractor logistics support included in the Silent Knight Radar system design and development contract, H92222-07-C-0041. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement or an exception to the Government's intent to purchase on a sole source basis, which shall be considered by the Government if received within fifteen (15) days of this notice. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The Government is not responsible for any cost incurred for submissions in response to this notice.
