- This sources sought notice is for informational and planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a solicitation or an obligation or commitment by the Government. This notice is intended strictly for market research purposes. The purpose of this sources sought is to determine the interest and capability of potential qualified parties, particularly Small Business Administration (SBA) certified: Small Disadvantaged Business (SDB) Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone) business, Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), Women Owned Small Business (WOSB), Economically Disadvantaged Women Owned Small Business (EDWOSB), and 8(a) program small business firms certified under North American Industry Classification Code (NAICS) 238160, Roofing Contractors or alternative NAICS code 236220, Commercial and Institutional Building Construction. The applicable size standard for the first NAICS code is $14 Million, with the applicable standard size for the second is $33.5 million. This Sources Sought Notice is being issued to identify interested contractors with the requisite experience and capabilities to provide future repairs to Government owned properties with the Auburn, King County, Washington area. Specific experience and capabilities required include: 1. Extensive experience in the successful repair of 1940s era wooden trusses that are connected with split-ring timber connectors. Damage types include horizontal and diagonal splitting of chord members, center plug damage encountered during separation of member joints, and related damage. Repair methods include full member replacement, chord splicing, combination repairs, center plug repairs, epoxy encapsulation/injection, as well as other industry standard repairs. 2. Extensive experience with the use scaffolding and shoring in support of repairs to load bearing wooden trusses. 3. The capacity to simultaneously conduct multiple repairs in different locations within the same building, as well as single or multiple repairs in similar buildings within the same complex. 4. The ability to provide both scheduled and on-call truss repairs at all hours of the day, including days, nights, and weekends, and for an extended a period time (approximately one calendar year). Note: construction team members must be able to meet GSA security requirements including Homeland Security Presidential Direction 12 (HSPD-12). Interested parties who believe they have the above mentioned experience and capabilities are invited to submit in writing and electronically, a brief but detailed statement of capabilities (1 to 3 pages) for their firm, demonstrating their qualifications, capabilities, and experience for item 1-4 above. Ensure to include a Cover Letter with the following information at a minimum: 1.) Response to Sources Sought Notice No. 2.) Company Name, Address, Contact Person Information; 3.) DUNS Number; 4.) Business Size Standard/Classification and socio-economic status. The closing date for the receipt of responses is May 17, 2013, at 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time. Send your responses to both GSA points of contact listed below. The government reserves the right to compete any acquisition resulting from this survey. This sources sought notice is for planning purposes only and does not commit the Government to pay for the information requested, issue a solicitation, or award a contract.
