- This is a Request for Information (RFI) as defined in FAR 15.201(e). The Government is requesting information regarding the availability of manufacturers to meet our Large Area Maintenance Shelter (LAMS) requirements. For this RFI, the Department of Defense is interested in responses from industry on the attached product description that may be used in a future solicitation for LAMS. It is also to determine whether or not potentially new, current, and future manufacturers are interested in doing business with the Department of Defense with the sale of this product. Process: This request is to gather information from interested parties and is deemed essential as part of our collaborative, deliberate planning process for the Department of Defense. Interested parties should answer the following questions and provide the requested information: 1. Have you ever conducted LAMS business with the U.S. government? If so, please state your last commitment. a. Date(s) of service provided. b. Shipment origin and destination c. SCAC 2. Provide comments on the attached product description as necessary. Disclaimer: This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes and does not constitute a solicitation. All information received in response to this RFI will be treated as business confidential information, and exempted from disclosure under the Freedom of Information Act. Nonetheless, submitters should properly mark their responses if the information is confidential. Response to the RFI will not be returned. In accordance with FAR 15.201(e), responses to this notice are not offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. Responders are solely responsible for all expense associated with responding to this RFI. HOW TO RESPOND: Please submit comments no later than May 24, 2013.
