- The purpose of this sources sought is to identify potential sources for the removal and recycle of approximately 50,000 gallons of sulfuric acid with electrolyte. The scope of work for the recycle of 200 totes, each containing 250 gallons of sulfuric acid with electrolyte currently located at Sierra Army Depot in Herlong California. Due to shelf life expiration and storage conditions, the government will not guarantee acid content, acid purity, or container integrity. This material is to be recycled in accordance with California Title 22, California Health and Safety Code, and Department of Transportation regulations. Contractor will be required to over pack material as required to meet all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Over packing of material will be done at no additional cost to the government. The scope of work includes transportation and recycle of sulfuric acid with electrolyte in accordance with Local, State and Federal Regulations, is to be recycled within the State of California and the method of recycle must be approved by Sierra Army Depot Hazardous Waste Division prior to shipping offsite. Contractor shall possess all current licenses, registrations, and/or certifications required to perform the requested scope of work. Contractor shall supply all needed materials and equipment. Interested parties are invited to submit the following information to Tracy Marino via email tracy.marino@us.army.mil or fax to 530-827-4722: 1) Experience and capability in performing this type of work; 2) Whether work will be performed in-house or partially subcontracted out. This notice shall not be construed as a Request For Proposal, Request For Quote, Invitation For Bid, or as an obligation on the part of the Government to acquire follow-on acquisitions, however the Government may at its discretion award a contract(s) on the basis of this Notice, but is in no way obligated to pay for the information requested. No entitlement to payment of direct or indirect costs or charges by the Government will arise as a result of submission of responses to this notice and Government use of such information. The Government recognizes that proprietary data may be part of this effort. If so included, clearly mark such restricted or proprietary data and present it as an addendum to the non-restricted/non-proprietary information. NO SOLICITATION DOCUMENT EXISTS AT THIS TIME, however the government will review responses to identify firms potentially capable of fulfilling the Governments requirements. A response to this notice in no way obligates the government to enter into a potential contract. Responses mailed must reach this office not later than May 2, 2013 and can be mailed to Sierra Army Depot, Attn: Tracy Marino, 74 C Street, Building 84A, Herlong, CA 96113.
