J-7 Photographs J-6 Technical Study by Carol Grissom J-5 Condition Asscessment Report J-4 Survey Form Fixture and Loose Pieces J-3 Summary of Research on the Fixture J-2 Senate Commission on Art Guidelines Attachment J-1 AIC Code of Ethics Directions to the Bidders Conference Solicitation 2013-R-040 The Office of Senate Curator requires a Contractor to restore and electrify the circa 1857 Cornelius & Baker armorial fixture (59.00002) acquired for the Senate collection in 2005. This project also includes removing the existing electric lamp ring and providing curator-approved appropriate globes for the six arms. The fixture is currently stored in an open-framed crate at an off-site storage facility. Loose pieces from the fixture have been photographed, catalogued, and stored in boxes at the same location. The fixture and associated loose pieces have been dry-cleaned using brushes and a vacuum. A summary of the research on the fixture, a copy of the survey form listing the fixture and the loose pieces, a condition assessment and treatment report by Conservation Solution in 2007, a technical study on the materials and techniques of manufacture by Carol Grissom in 2007, and various photographs are provided as attachments to the Solicitation. A bidder's conference will be conducted by the United States Senate, Office of the Sergeant at Arms (SAA), on May 2, 2013 at 10:00 AM EST at the United States Senate Capitol Building, Washington, D.C. per the instructions provided in Solicitation Section L. Questions shall be submitted via email to acquisitions2012@saa.senate.gov to the attention of Kathleen Haddow no later than Noon EST on May 15, 2013 per the instructions provided in Solicitation Section L Responses to all Offeror's written questions shall be issued no later than close of business on May 17, 2013. The proposal must be received no later than Noon EST on May 29, 2013. The complete proposal must be submitted electronically as an attachment to an email sent to acquisitions2012@saa.senate.gov to the attention of Kathleen M. Haddow per the instructions provided in Solicitation Section L Although the SAA does not anticipate any amendments, the Offeror is responsible for monitoring this site for release of Solicitation amendments (if any). The SAA will not respond to telephone requests for information. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice
