- Description
- Justification For Other Than Full and Open Competition This is an Award Notice - GD139OAR9T5 Modification 31. This Brand Name equipment can be procured through competitive means from various sources and this will ensure a fair and reasonable price. This requirement is a tech refresh of the aging NetApp FAS3140c with additional capabilities to handle an expected increase of larger observational data and higher resolution model data. This upgrade will seamlessly integrate into the current NAS infrastructure reducing migration downtime without loss of data. The use of this system yields additional cost savings by allowing for the reuse of existing NAS infrastructure such as disk shelves. This system will be repurposed as the primary data store for the Test & Evaluation system as well as supporting NOAA Hazardous Weather Testbed (HWT) activities as the SPC transitions from AWIPS to AWIPS2. This procurement will reduce potential cost of management and potential incompatibility issues. The initial requirement was solicited competitively and subsequently awarded to INDUS. All material support requirements are therefore awarded to INDUS by modification to the awarded task order and subcontracting for supplies is sometimes necessary. This is a task order was awarded against a IDIQ contract; no other company other than INDUS supports this program.
