Description

The Department of Veterans Affairs, Battle Creek VA Healthcare System, 5500 Armstrong Road, Battle Creek, Michigan, 49037 anticipates soliciting bids and consequently awarding a contract for the construction project known as "Replace Emergency Generators." The solicitation will be conducted in accordance with FAR Part 14 (SEALED BIDDING) and Part 36 (CONSTRUCTION) and will be evaluated in accordance with the procedures therein. The solicitation will be advertised as a Total Set-Aside for Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB). The contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, supplies, travel, etc. to perform all work under this project which consists of: STATEMENT OF WORK Replace Emergency Generators VA Project No.: 515-12-102 The Contractor shall provide services necessary to furnish all materials and labor, including As-Built Documentation, and all other related information for Project 515-12-102, Replace Emergency Generators, at the VA Medical Center in Battle Creek, Michigan. This project will remove nine existing emergency generators, underground storage tanks and generator buildings currently providing emergency electrical power to the medical center in the event primary electrical service is lost. This Project will install eight new emergency generators housed within seven new generator buildings, providing emergency electrical power to the medical center in the event primary electrical service is lost. New fuel storage and monitoring systems will be installed, along with a centralized control system monitoring each of the generators status, alarm and operating characteristics. The Contractor is responsible for maintaining emergency electrical power service to each building throughout the course of construction. The period of performance is 365 calendar days for the entire project. Magnitude of construction is expected to be $5,000,000 to $10,000,000. NAICS Code for this acquisition is 238210. The solicitation documents including specifications and drawings will be issued on or about 05-17-2013 and will be posted on Federal Business Opportunities. This date is subject to change. Hard copy documents including drawings will not be available - all documents for bidding purposes will be posted at this website for download. Site visit information will be provided upon issuance of solicitation. Only one site visit is planned. Bids will be due 30 days after issuance of solicitation unless extended by amendment. This notice is for informational purposes only and is not a request for submission of offers. The Government is not obligated to issue a solicitation as a result of this notice.
