Description

Notice of Intent to Sole Source - Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Veterans Health Administration (VHA) ISO 9001:2008 ("ISO 9001") Consulting, Design, Training and Implementation Contract Modification Procurement Office: Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Network Contracting Office 5 (NCO 5), 849 International Drive, Suite 450, Linthicum, MD 21090 Response Date/Time: April 24, 2013, 3:00 PM EST The VA NCO 5 intends to award a sole source modification to ISO Consultants for Healthcare (ICH) under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1 (Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements) for detailed activities necessary to meet the Government's expectation for ISO 9001 implementation. The VA has contracted with ICH to implement the ISO 9001:2008 Standard across VHA, beginning in Sterile Processing Services (SPS) and areas of reprocessing of reusable medical equipment (RME,) will ensure that reliable, repeatable, and verifiable processes are in place for processing equipment used on Veterans. As evidenced by history and experience with the marketplace under previous acquisitions for the same service, the Government notes that ICH is the only vendor that has documented and proven vast experience designing, training and implementing the ISO 9001:2008 Standard into healthcare facilities and systems. Notwithstanding, any firm that believes it is capable of meeting this requirement, as stated herein, may submit their corporate capabilities, which if received by the response date of this announcement may be considered. Responses to this posting must be in writing and submitted to Donyale Smith, Deputy Network Contract Manager, at donyale.smith@va.gov by the response date listed above. A determination not to compete the proposed requirement based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. (Note 22)
