- Description
- BRAND NAME JEFO Notice of Intent to Purchase Brand Name Specific Items under Army CHESS Contracts less than br greater than Project Manager, Army Enterprise Systems Integration Program (PM AESIP) has a requirement to obtain two (2) Cisco Brand ASR-1002 Routers to support a point-to-point OC-12 dedicated circuit between the Redstone Arsenal (RSA), AL data center and the Product Manager, Acquisition Logistics and Technology Enterprise System and Services (PD ALTESS), data center located in Radford, VA. AESIP's primary and secondary sites are hosted in RSA and PD ALTESS; both locations replicate data to each site. Cisco Systems and Update Rights & Product Technical Support Licenses are essential to the Government's requirements, and market research indicates that other CHESS contractor's similar products, or products lacking the particular feature, do not meet, or cannot be modified to meet, the agency's needs. Only Cisco Certified Partners/Resellers can support equipment failures and software upgrades to the associated routers. RSA and PD ALTESS have a specific need for Cisco ASR-1002 routers from Cisco Systems due to their scalability, centralized management capabilities, and interoperability within the Army's existing Cisco network environment. These new Cisco brand routers will minimize the risk of potential network downtime and allow for faster network access and data security. RSA and PD ALTESS have existing core switching through the Cisco Nexus 7000 Series Chassis. Continuing to use Cisco brand equipment means that the Army will continue to be part of a single framework, increasing both data redundancy and ease of management. We intend to purchase the required support by awarding a competitive firm fixed price delivery order through the Computer Hardware, Enterprise Software and Solutions (CHESS) program which is the Army's designated primary source for commercial IT. In accordance with the CHESS ordering guidelines, the Fair Opportunity will be given to all six ITES-2H multiple award contract holders. A brand name justification has been approved and is being posted with this announcement. Delivery is required 30 days after the award of the order. Market research has revealed that more than one ITES-2H multiple award contract holder can provide the required support. When this is true the procurement must be made from CHESS IAW AFARS 5139.101. Responses to this announcement must be emailed directly to Steve Perry, the Contract Specialist, at steven.r.perry32.civ@mail.mil. less than br greater than
