- This Sources Sought Notice is for informational and planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a solicitation or as an obligation or commitment by the Government at this time. This notice is intended strictly for market research. The purpose of this Sources Sought notice is to determine interest and capability of potential qualifications of all businesses, including Large Businesses, Small Businesses, 8(a), HubZone and Service Disabled Veteran-Owned firms relative to the North American Industry Classification Code (NAICS) 334510 (electromedical and electrotherapeutic apparatus manufacturing ). The Department of Veteran's Affairs is seeking sources to supply (2) Dialysis - Blood Loss Alarms/Detectors with the following specifications: A.Alarm units a.Monitors potential blood loss at the hemodialysis access site on the patient b.Adhesive sensor patch that reads infrared light throughput at puncture site c.Optical fibre connection between alarm unit and sensor patch d.Integrated, rechargeable battery pack operation e.Audio alarm indicators f.Visual alarm indicators B.Sensor patches a.Adhesive b.Non-irritant to skin Interested sources are requested to submit an email delineating qualification, capabilities, and experience for providing this product. Please include your business size with your submittal. This is not a Request for Proposal or an announcement of a solicitation and no solicitation package exists at this time. Your responses will be used solely for market research purposes of the Government. The Government will not pay for any materials provided in response to this notice and submittals will not be returned to the sender. The applicable North American Classification System (NAICS) Code for this requirement is 334510 and the small business size standard is 500 Employees. Responses due are to be submitted by e-mail to daniel.rasmussen2@va.gov. The information requested must be received no later than 5:00pm Central Standard Time on April 12, 2013.
