- RFI - OCC032913- ENTERPRISE MONITORING TOOL Request for Information (RFI)/Sources Sought Notice Enterprise Monitoring Tool The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) is responsible for regulating and supervising the national banking system. The OCC charters, regulates, and examines national banks, federal branches and agencies of foreign banks in the United States, and thrifts. Its mission is to ensure a safe, sound, and competitive national banking system that supports the citizens, communities, and economy of the United States. Operationally, OCC is required to comply with laws and regulations that ensure appropriate internal controls are in place and working effectively and efficiently covering financial reporting and information systems compliance. The OCC is seeking information about an Enterprise Management tool that can help the OCC effectively manage and monitor their information technology (IT) infrastructure environment and more efficiently plan, scale and improve capacity and availability of network resources. We are seeking information on tools that can fit into the existing environment and provide comprehensive monitoring, analysis and reporting capabilities. We are seeking an enterprise-wide tool that can, at a minimum, provide: real-time monitoring of network devices, including the monitoring of hardware, storage, databases and messaging and applications (specific application requirements are listed in Table 1 below ); historical analysis of network devices; monitoring of performance of both physical and virtual server environments; performance optimization; alert and event notification capabilities; allow remote monitoring capabilities; customized reporting capabilities; technical support and training options; arrangements for maintenance and upgrades of the tool; and information on what capabilities the tool has with respect to interoperability and integration with other software/hardware products. We are also seeking information on a tool that can also address security information and event management requirements and support real-time collection, analysis and correlation of log data from host systems, security devices, and network devices, support long-term storage, reporting, and dashboards, Support interface customization, be easy to deploy and maintain, integrate with best of breed vulnerability scanning engines, support custom built application feeds for front end analysis and reporting, and support Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) compliance reporting based on NIST SP 800-53 Rev3. The OCC operates an enterprise network that provides file and print, remote access, Internet and Intranet capabilities for a work force of 4,000. The OCC uses routing and switching technology from CISCO systems, as well as telephony services from a deployed Avaya Voice Over Internet Protocal (VOIP) system. File and print services are distributed across a broad geographic area within the continental US and leverage Microsoft directory and server Operating System platforms.
