- Industry Day Announcement 25 March 2013 Subject: FedBizOpps Special Notice for U.S. Department of Agriculture Farm Service Agency Industry Day The USDA/FSA is holding a Pre-Solicitation Industry Day on the USDA/FSA's Application Delivery (FAD) program. It is requested that interested companies contact the POCs below based on the following invitation information: 1. Due to seating capacity limitations, each vendor is limited to sponsoring two representatives for FSA/FAD Pre-Solicitation Industry Day Meeting. The session is scheduled for Wednesday, 01 May 2013 from 1000 hours to 1500 hours Eastern Daylight Savings Time (EDT), at the Whitten Building Patio located at 1400 Independence Ave., SW Washington, DC 20252. Sign-in is scheduled from 0900 hours to 0955 hours with the session commencing promptly at 1000 hours. Invited attendees may be assigned a timeframe for sign-in in order to insure the process moves smoothly. Attendees are to register NLT Monday, 22 April 2013 by sending an email to ra.sa.dcwas3.ffasfad@wdc.usda.gov. Registration should include names of attendees, company, email address and telephone number. A current Government issued photo (state or federal) identification is required for entry. 2. The Industry Day presentation will cover the FSA Application Delivery (FAD) solicitation number AG-3151-S-13-0001. The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Farm Services Agency (FSA) administers and manages farm commodity, credit, conservation, disaster and loan programs as authorized by Congress through a network of federal, state and county offices. FSA's administrative and programmatic functions are supported by a large network of automated Systems that are maintained by its Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO). FSA's OCIO is also responsible for developing IT support for new programs, replacing existing programs and modernizing existing platforms and Systems. The primary OCIO operations are located in Washington, DC and Kansas City, MO, with additional offices in St. Louis, MO. FSA is responsible for an increasing number of web applications resulting from on-going efforts to modernize program delivery to the web environment. In addition FSA is directly supporting, collaborating on, or integrating with SAP based modernization efforts via Web Based Supply Chain Management (WBSCM), Financial Management Modernization Initiative (FMMI), and Modernize and Innovate the Delivery of Agricultural Systems (MIDAS). FSA has a need to develop modernized solutions to meet the needs the nation's farmers and ranchers and the county office users that support them, and provide support for domestic and international food aid efforts via cost effective Commercial off The Shelf (COTS) centric Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)/hybrid solutions that integrate custom software components to maximize the benefits of both COTS and custom development platforms. The objective is to provide technical support services for the delivery of consistent, modern and cost-effective business solutions for FSA and other agencies that FSA supports today and in the future. This will include but not be limited to requirements determination, analysis, design, configuration, construction, testing, deployment support, maintenance, and Tier 3 production support of existing and new custom, COTS or hybrid systems. 3. There is limited space available on a first come-first serve basis for members of Industry to setup promotional tables/booths for display and networking opportunities for before and after the general presentation. Exact space allowed is to be determined at a later date. Companies needing display space are requested to send an email to ra.sa.dcwas3.ffasfad@wdc.usda.gov to request a registration form for display/booth space by no later than April 15, 2013.
