Description

The Centers for Disease Control and prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to Roche Diagnostics, 9115 Hague Road, Indianapolis, IN 46250, for purchase of twenty (20) Linear Array Detection Kits (96 tests per kit) and forty (40) Linear Array HPV Genotyping Kits (48 tests per kit). These two items together comprise the only known assay available to research laboratories for the purpose of identifying and genotyping 37 individual human papillomavirus (HPV) types. Due to the nature of the laboratory studies, which will track virus persistence in longitudinal studies, isolate and further study HPV types that most commonly cause cervical cancer in the U.S., and determine the prevalence of the various types throughout the U.S., the kits must be able to tell how many and identify 37 individual HPV types. This contract action is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) and 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all responses received within five (5) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Any response should be emailed to the purchasing agent at lml3@cdc.gov by 4:30 p.m. EDT, March 29, 2013.
