- THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION FOR PROPOSALS OR QUOTES. THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS ONLY. This synopsis is being issued under the authority of FAR 15.201("Exchanges of information before receipt of proposals"). This Request for Information (RFI) is for the purpose of identifying Vendors and/or Contractors that are capable of providing, replacing and servicing point of use filters for the removal of legionella spp. from the domestic water supply at the Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, VA Medical Center. Salient Characteristics of Filters: 1.The Vendor/Contractor shall be able to provide laboratory tests, certifications, verifications testing or other documentation of the following: "The filters shall be manufactured by a company which is primarily involved in the production of medical or laboratory grade products. "The filters shall be point-of-use, inline, replaceable and have a certified average service life greater that 1-month under expected usage rates-i.e., hospital showers, sinks and other fixtures. "The filters shall be specifically designed for medical use and patient care and shall be sterilized in accordance with ISO 11137-1, ISO 11137-2 and ISO 11137-3 (20006 or more current). "The filter housings shall contain a bacteriostatic additive designed to reduce microbial contamination and shall meet all requirements of United States Pharmacopoeia 88 (in vivo). "The filters shall be verified to retain Brevundimonas diminuta in laboratory liquid microbial challenge tests for validating 0.2 ?m sterilizing grade filters to a minimum of 107 CFU/cm2 using the principals of ASTM F838-05 and Health Industry Manufacturers Association (HIMA) Guidance. Service: 1. The Vendor/Contractor shall be able to provide service or replacement of filters according to the certified usage rates under an annual Contract. Response: All Vendors/ Contractors are asked to reply to this Sources Sought RFI. However, please indicate in your response if you are a service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses (SDVOSB) that is registered in VetBiz.
