- OVERVIEW This is a sources sought and not a solicitation notice. The National Park Service's Social Science Branch (SSB) will shortly be seeking proposals for visitor use research and analysis services that will inform park planning and management at as many as 14-18 park units per year. This will be an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract. Proposals will be favored that demonstrate in-depth visitor use information collection using well established social science methods outlining innovative approaches. In-park investigations will be required as a means of collection by contractor staff. This contract will be for three years of work, corresponding to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) programmatic information collection approval time period. Approval by OMB of each survey is required. Coordination with the NPS Information Collection Review Coordinator will be required to successfully perform the tasks outlined in this contract. PURPOSE The National Park Service requires an understanding of current visitor trip planning, demographics, regional and in-park spending, service and facility quality and importance, experience satisfaction, and other visitor values and attitudes. This information serves the agency in management and planning efforts mandated by a plethora of laws and codified in agency policies. REQUEST FOR STATEMENTS OF INTEREST Interested vendors are encouraged to send a statement of interest to the Contracting Officer outlining proposed methods to conduct this work and innovative methods for conducting this work within the requirement of the Paperwork Reduction Act that optimize alternative collection approaches. Statements of interest should be received no later than April 1, 2013. Please respond with questions no later than 03/25/2013. Questions can be sent to john_price@contractor.nps.gov or call 303-969-2499
