- Fire System Design and Installation RFI THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE ONLY. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL OR REQUEST FOR QUOTE. This Request for Information (RFI) is being issued for information and planning purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation. Responses to this RFI will not be returned. Not responding to this sources sought does not preclude participation in any future and potential solicitation. It is the intent of the Contracting Office to use this RFI for market research purposes only. If a formal solicitation is released, it will be via the Federal Business Opportunities (http://www.fbo.gov). The Government shall not reimburse the costs of preparing responses to this RFI. The 90th Contracting Squadron is seeking potential small business sources for a Fire System Design and Installation requirement. The scope of work will include removing all existing fire panels and existing hardware, if present, in base buildings 223 and 224; replacing existing systems with or installing interfaceable Monaco transmitters that can relay information that is readable by the Fire Department; installing mass notification devices in every room of each building; and programming fire doors, elevators, smoke and heat detectors and sprinkler warning relay switches into to the fire panels, allowing them to relay the most up to date and accurate information to the Fire Department for adequate emergency response. The disclosure of the magnitude of construction projects for this requirement is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. This proposed contract is being considered as a set-aside under a small business set-aside program. The North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS) Code proposed for the requirement is 238210. The size standard for NAICS 238210 is $14,000,000. The government is interested in all small businesses including 8(a), Historically Underutilized Business Zone, Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses, etc., that are interested in performing this requirement. The government requests interested parties submit a brief description of their company's business size (i.e. annual revenues and employee size), business status (i.e., 8(a), Historically Underutilized Business Zone, Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses, small business, etc.) anticipated teaming arrangements, and a description of similar services offered to the Government and to commercial customers. Any responses involving teaming agreements should delineate between the work that will be accomplished by the prime contractor and the work accomplished by the teaming partners. The Government will use this information in determining its small business set-aside decision.
