- Description
- The Program Management Office for Training Systems (PM TRASYS) is seeking offerors to fulfill a requirement to refresh 168 ISMT systems in support of Marine Forces Reserve (MARFORRES). In an effort to maintain a sufficient level of combat readiness a requirement exists for a high-fidelity simulator capable of providing training for Marines in the utilization of their weapons and to enhance combat skills. The ISMT Operational Requirements Document (ORD) established the requirement for a deployable, interactive indoor training simulator for instruction and sustainment training in basic and advanced marksmanship on infantry weapons, shoot/no-shoot judgment scenarios and weapon employment tactics. This effort will require offerors to provide a system that utilizes, to the fullest extent possible, commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) components in the manufacturing of the training system. The contractor shall also be responsible for providing all labor, materials, consumables, equipment, tools and test equipment necessary to facilitate the integration of Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) into a complete training solution. In order for potential offerors to better familiarize themselves with the existing ISMT system and the environment in which it will operate, the Government will conduct a site visit to be held at Camp Pendleton, California on 19 March, 2013. The site visit will be at the Assault Amphibian School Battalion, 21 Area (Camp Del Mar) aboard Camp Pendleton in building 210568. Directions to the site have been provided in a separate attachment. Potential offerors shall coordinate site visits, at a minimum 48 hours in advance. The points of contact (POCs) for coordinating site visits to Camp Pendleton are listed below: Mr. Luis Jimenez luis.a.jimenez@usmc.mil 760-725-3854 Mr. Dave Sandvold david.sandvold@usmc.mil 760-468-7510 Subsequent to the site visits, the Government will conduct a half day pre-solicitation conference to be held on 21 March 2013 at MARINE CORPS SYSTEM COMMAND/PM TRASYS offices in Orlando, Florida. The office address for conference is provided below. The pre-solicitation conference will be held from 1200 to 1400. Any questions concerning the pre-solicitation conference can be directed to Major Edwin Norris, ISMT Project Manager, whose information is provided below.
