Description
The U.S. Army Contracting Command - New Jersey, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 07806-5000, on behalf of the Office of the Project Manager Close Combat Systems (PM CCS), Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 07806-5000 has a requirement for manufacturing and delivering the following Item/Part Numbers (P/Ns): DODIC: MN08 Nomenclature: IGNITER, TIME BLASTING FUSE: with shocktube capability, M81 (M81 Igniter) P/N 13042035 / NSN: 1375-01-608-6852 (Army Pack) P/N 13042036 / NSN: 1375-01-608-6847 (Marine Pack) The Government intends to fulfill this requirement as a 100% Small Business Set-Aside (SBSA) via a Five Year Single Award Indefinite Delivery/ Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) Firm Fixed Price Contract. The M81 is a small plastic tube with a pull ring on a thin rod projecting from one end, a safety (cotter) pin that goes laterally through the tube and a screw cap that secures a holding mechanism for the time blasting fuse or shock tube on the other end. A two-piece plastic plug is secured in a hole in the screw end cap that will accommodate the shock tube or time blasting fuse. The M81 employs a steel mechanical firing assembly and M42C1 primer to initiate time blasting fuse or shock tube components. The contractor shall meet the M81 Igniter requirements in accordance with the requirements delineated in the Statement of Work (SOW) and Technical Data Package (TDP). It is anticipated that a solicitation will be posted, on or about 14 January 2013, on the Army Single Face to Industry (ASFI) Acquisition Business website; https://acquisition.army.mil and Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps) website; https://www.fbo.gov/. Proposals will be due thirty (30) days after issuance of the Request for Proposal (RFP). This procurement will be rated DO for national defense use, and all provisions of the Defense Priorities and Allocation System Regulation (15 CFR 700) apply. Please note this notice/announcement does not constitute an RFP. Responses to this announcement are not proposals and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. This is not a guarantee of a future RFP or an award. This notice should not be construed as a commitment of any kind by the U.S. Government. Any information provided to the Government in response to this notice will become ACC-NJ property and will not be returned. The Government will not reimburse contractors for any cost associated with responding to this announcement.
