Description

The Salem VAMC requires Stat Lab testing services and histology slide preparation services. Services shall include transportation of clinical laboratory specimens, regardless of the number of specimens picked up from the Salem VAMC facility to the Contractor's laboratory as well as the return of specific surgical anatomic pathology samples/processed items back to the Salem VAMC. The Contractor shall provide stat/emergent services/testing for any test/procedure deemed necessary. Only fully licensed/accredited laboratories actively engaged in providing the specific services and laboratory testing outlined in this solicitation will be considered. The Stat Laboratory must be licensed, accredited, and inspected by the Laboratory Accreditation Program (LAP) of an accrediting agency (i.e. COLA LC, CAP) with deemed status from the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Center for Disease Control, Medicare and/or other state regulatory agencies as mandated by federal and state statutes. In addition, the Laboratory must be certified as meeting the requirements of the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act of 1988 and comply with the National Standards to Protect the Privacy of Personal Health Information (HIPPA). The NAICS Code for this procurement is 621511, size standard $13.5 million. The classification code for this requirement is Q, Medical Services. The tentative date for solicitation release is 2/14/2013 and the tentative close date is 2/22/2013. These are tentative dates.
