- Description
- The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) proposes to extend the current contract for an additional six (6) months with G4S Government Solutions for security guard services at the NRC Headquarters locations. The Federal Protective Service (FPS) will be assuming control of this requirement effective 10/1/2013. This extension is required for the transition from the current contract to the FPS. The period of performance for this extension will be April 1, 2013 to September 30, 2013. The authority to enter into a contract on a sole source basis with G4S Government Solutions is made under the authority of 41 U.S. C. 253(c)(1) and Federal Acquisition Regulation 6.302-1 which provides for limiting competition in those situations where the supplies or services are available from only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the agency requirements. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 561612-Security Guard Services. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation package is available. Firms that believe that they can provide services that fully meet the Government's requirements may submit substantiating documentation no later than 4:30 pm EST by February 20, 2013, by e-mailing their capability statement to Daniel.app@nrc.gov. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. A determination not to compete this proposed extension based on responses to the notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
