RFQP03171300008 - Commercial Dryers Federal Correctional Institution - Bennettsville, South Carolina PROJECT 3A5U - Commercial Dryers PART 1 PRODUCTS 1.01 DELIVERY INFORMATION 2.01 SPECIFICATIONS 2.02 SYSTEM DESCRIPTION 2.03 PRODUCTS AND SPECIAL INFORMATION 1.01 Delivery Information A. Delivery will be made to the Federal Bureau of Prisons (FBOP), Federal Correctional Institution(FCI), 696 Muckerman Road, Bennettsville, SC 29512. Contractors are to quote a delivered price to the above listed address. B. Units are to be delivered assembled and ready for installation. 1.02 Installation A. Installation will be performed by Government personnel. 1.03 GUARANTEE AND WARRANTY REQUIREMENTS A. Provide full documentation to FBOP Contracting Officer of manufacturer's warranty. B. Provide recommended preventative maintenance information for all equipment installed. C. Provide technical assistance information for equipment. D. Provide equipment documentation and manuals. E. Warranties are to be included in the contractors price quote. 1.04 SUBMITTALS A. Submit to FBOP Contracting Officer most recent material literature and specifications to ensure it will meet the need of the FBOP. PART 2 PRODUCTS 2.01 SPECIFICATIONS FOR DRYERS A. The dryers shall in addition to complying with applicable laws, statutes, building codes and regulations of public authorities, comply with the following: 1. National Electric Code 2. Underwriter's Laboratories, Inc. 3. American Gas Association Laboratories 4. ASME 5. EPA Environment Protection Agency 2.02 SYSTEM DESCRIPTION A. All laundry equipment shall comply/conform to Correctional Facility Standards 1. Where possible, all equipment shall be constructed for Correctional Facility Application. 2. The institution is requesting 3 - each: 170 lb Natural Gas Dryers 2.03 PRODUCTS A. Dry weight capacity: 170 lb. B. Input voltage: 480/60/3 C. Heat Source: Natural gas. D. Overall width: 54 inches nominal. E. Overall height: 97 inches nominal. F. Overall depth: 67 inches nominal. G. Exhaust size: 12 inch. H. Reversing Cylinder. I. Control system. 1. Minimum of eight automatic drying cycles. 2. Ability to time dry. 3. Variable temperature settings from 120-180 degree F. J. Lint filter: Self-cleaning, depositing lint to large storage area at bottom of tumbler. These dryers will be utilized in a high use correctional environment. Laundry is washed and dried in bags. Dryers are in use 10 - 12 hours a day 5 days a week. Bureau of Prisons technical staff have reviewed documentation describing the following models and determined them to be acceptable for the needs of the facility; 1 - Milnor M175DR 2 - Huebsch HT170 52.211-6 Brand Name or Equal. Brand Name or Equal (Aug 1999) (a) If an item in this solicitation is identified as "brand name or equal," the purchase description reflects the characteristics and level of quality that will satisfy the Government's needs. The salient physical, functional, or performance characteristics that "equal" products must meet are specified in the solicitation. (b) To be considered for award, offers of "equal" products, including "equal" products of the brand name manufacturer, must- (1) Meet the salient physical, functional, or performance characteristic specified in this solicitation; (2) Clearly identify the item by- (i) Brand name, if any; and (ii) Make or model number; (3) Include descriptive literature such as illustrations, drawings, or a clear reference to previously furnished descriptive data or information available to the Contracting Officer; and (4) Clearly describe any modifications the offeror plans to make in a product to make it conform to the solicitation requirements. Mark any descriptive material to clearly show the modifications. (c) The Contracting Officer will evaluate "equal" products on the basis of information furnished by the offeror or identified in the offer and reasonably available to the Contracting Officer. The Contracting Officer is not responsible for locating or obtaining any information not identified in the offer. (d) Unless the offeror clearly indicates in its offer that the product being offered is an "equal" product, the offeror shall provide the brand name product referenced in the solicitation. (End of provision) Award will be made based on a combination price and technical factors. The Technical factors will take into consideration the products suitability for its intended use. These dryers will be utilized in a high use correctional environment. Laundry is washed and dried in bags. Dryers are in use 10 - 12 hours a day 5 days a week.
