- This is a SSC Pacific combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items and FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation. Competitive quotes are being requested under N66001-13-T-6588. This requirement is set aside for total small business, NAICS code is 541380 and business size standard is 14.0 Mil. Contractor to provide access to radiation sources for SPAWAR Systems Center Pacific for 100 hours to carryout instrument calibration and development in a licensed facility. Sources required include: 252Cf neutron and gamma ray source > 104 n/sec 137Cs 1 uCi check source Natural uranium source Natural thorium source K-40 source Contractor will conduct this work under State of California and Nuclear Regulatory Commission licenses. Sources will be handled by trained personnel. SPAWAR personnel need not handle the sources, but can operate instrumentation outside of the 2 mRem/hr (20 uSv/hr) limit as specified by the NRC. Contractor to provide both laboratory space and locked office space for the use of SPAWAR personnel. Sources and office spaces to be accessed during normal business hours. Contractor to also provide access to various neutron detectors and related gamma ray instrumentation including liquid scintillators, proton recoil counters, multichannel analyzers, NaI(Tl) gamma detectors and Solid State Nuclear Track Detectors. TOTAL PRICE:$________________ Basis for award: The government anticipates awarding a firm-fixed price purchase order.
